We have phased out the fresh cut hardwood in our conventional picnic table and migrated to a fully seasoned and kiln dried hardwood that will retain its beauty for years to come. All our hardwood conventional picnic tables will now be in Spotted Gum Hardwood. The timber is solid sections in a 45mm thickness. A very solid construction in multiple sizes and all with wider 285mm double plank seats as a standard.
These can be supplied in raw timber or oiled finish. Whilst the cost of seasoned hardwood is slightly more expensive than fresh cut hardwood, the stability of the timber ensures the tables will look good from day one and remain that way for years to come. Shrinkage, checking and cracking associated with fresh hardwoods are no longer an issue.
